Larry Nelson Commits to 2007 Bank of America Championship

For Immediate Release, May 10, 2007:

CONCORD, Mass. – Larry Nelson, winner of the 2000 and 2001 Bank of America Championships, has joined the field for the 2007 tournament, which will be played June 18-24 at Nashawtuc Country Club in Concord.

In 2000, Nelson won the Bank of America Championship with a 13-under 203, and in 2001, when he won again with the same score, he joined Don January, Chi Chi Rodriquez, Bob Charles and Hale Irwin as back-to-back winners of the tournament. His 13-under 203 in 2001 beat Bruce Fleisher by only one stroke and third-place finishers Tom Kite and Mike Hill by two strokes.

Nelson was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame last year. During his PGA TOUR career he won 10 tournaments, including PGA Championships in 1981 and 1987 and the U.S. Open Championship in 1983, and has won 19 times on the Champions Tour. Last year, he scored in the top 10 at four tournaments and hit a hole-in-one on the eighth hole in the third round at the Ford Senior Players Championship.
