Bank of America Championship's Swing with the Legends Major League Baseball Alumni Player Field Complete Local Caddie Scholar Program students will caddie for MLBPAA players

CONCORD, Mass - With the twenty-sixth annual Bank of America
Championship is teeing off in a couple of weeks, the field of Major
League Baseball alumni taking part in Swing with the Legends at the
tournament is complete, and local students in the Caddie Scholars
Program will be their caddies.
For Swing with the Legends, 12 Major League Baseball Player Alumni
Association legends will compete against each other and play alongside
Champions Tour pros in a tournament within the tournament, and fans will
have an opportunity to meet and get autographs from them on Friday
afternoon, June 9, at Nashawtuc. Swing with the Legends will include a
Hilarity for Charity Pro-Am Tournament on Friday morning, June 9, at The
International in Bolton. Twelve sixso mes will comprise four amateurs,
one local comedian and one MLBPAA legend. These 12 MLBPAA legends will
play at Nashawtuc during the tournament’s second round on Saturday, June
10, and the six with the best second round scores will move to the final
round on Sunday, June 11. The Swing with the Legends winner will receive
his trophy along with the Bank of America Championship winner at
eighteenth green ceremonies after the tournament.
The Major League Baseball alumni competing in Swing with the Legends
will be Alan Ashby, Kevin Bass, Johnny Bench, Doug DeCinces, Darren
Daulton, Bobby Grich, Bob Knepper, Bill Mazeroski, Rick Miller, Jim
Perry, Mickey Tettleton and Bob Tewksbury.
Local students who will caddie for these 12 MLB legends are participants
in the Caddies Scholars Program, which began in 1996 and for the past
two years has served more than 100 students at the George Wright Golf
Course and Franklin Park Golf Course. Caddie Scholars take part in
several area golfing events during the season, and those who are
graduating seniors are eligible for $1,000 grants from Black & White
Boston. Also, this year nine students will be receiving nearly $25,000
from the Francis Ouimet Scholarship Fund, which has been granting
scholarships to Caddie Scholars since 1998.
The local caddies are Andrew Bartlett of Hyde Park, who will caddie for
Bobby Grich; Tim Galvin of Hyde Park, for Mickey Tettleton; Patrick
Poulin of West Roxbury, for Doug DeCines; Matt Stone of West Roxbury,
for Jim Perry; Ellis Jones of Roxbury, for Bill Mazeroski; Stanley Smith
of Dorchester, for Darren Daulton; Derrick Gillis of Hyde Park, for Rick
Miller; Stephen Jordan-Smith of Roxbury, for Kevin Bass; Christopher
Mangan of Jamaica Plain, for Bob Knepper; Janice Coleman of Roslindale,
for Bob Tewksbury; Kathleen Norton of Brighton, for Alan Ashby; and Greg
Trudell of Dorchester, for Johnny Bench.
The twenty-sixth annual Bank of America Championship takes place June
5-11 at Nashawtuc Country Club in Concord. Last year’s winner, Mark
McNulty, will defend his title against top pros like Allen Doyle, Tom
Kite, Larry Nelson, Dana Quigley and Lee Trevino. Tickets and
